Nouveau blog.

17th September 2012 -

I realised something today, I've been writing this blog for what? nearly 3 years or something? and I'm still not famous. I think that means I'm doing something wrong. So therefore, I've decided to mix my four greatest loves; blogging, shopping, music and photography ;)

So, at the minute, you're probably thinking "er.. what?" (well, those of you who actually read my blog are thinking that, which is probably like, one person. Seen as I'm not famous yet.) but let me explain. You see, I like fashion, so I tend to read a lot of Marie Claire magazines. I also spent a hell of a lot of money on clothes, which I know I shouldn't be doing, as I hardly wear any of it. Oops. Therefore, I'm going to make a new blog. This blog, is going to be about my life and what I'm up to. My new blog, will be where I can post clothes that I've found, match outfits up and give a brief description, post new music that I've found with lyrics which I like and post some photography for you :) so yeah, hopefully it will work, and it will become a success, and I'll get lots of hits and then start making money from it, and become famous.. what? pffft! no, I'm not getting ahead of myself! well maybe just a little ;)

Watch this space!

I'm off to watch The Lucky One

Until next time..

New York City, September 11th, 2001.

11th September 2012 -

As we all know, today is 9/11, exactly 11 years since the awful attack on New York, where the twin towers unfortunately fell.

Today always gets to me, mainly because there's always programmes on about it and hearing people's stories just makes me upset. I still remember what happened on that day, as many of you will. I think it's one of those "everyone remembers where they were when _____ happened" situations.

I remember I was only 7, but I wanted to watch my cartoons, and all that mum wanted to watch was the news, and I remember feeling annoyed that she wouldn't turn the TV over. Obviously I didn't understand how big of a deal it was at the time, but I still feel guilty for feeling annoyed about cartoons, when there were people dying at that exact moment. I cant even begin to imagine what they must have been thinking or feeling, but every year I take a moment to think about those people. People who have lost children, mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, grand parents, best friends, siblings. And all I lost was an episode of Scooby Doo.

I know I was only 7, but I still feel like a selfish bitch every time someone mentions 9/11 and I think back to that moment. It made me realise how lucky I was to be at home and not to be in New York at that time. But it also makes me feel so, so angry. What did those people do to deserve to have their lives cut so short? To leave children without parents? Nothing. A total of four planes crashed that day and not one person survived. A hand full of people got out of the towers, but the rest suffered. I didn't lose anyone that day, but I still feel the upset, anger and the confusion that most others feel too. I know that if I was to ever visit New York, which I hope I get to do one day, the first thing I want to do is visit ground zero, and to pay my respects.

Therefore, I'd like to ask everyone, just to take a minute to think about 9/11, think about the people who lost their lives, the people who lost someone, and the city that suffered; and to remember, just how lucky you are.

Concours d'art.

10th September 2012 -

Well, last week was my first week at college! It wasn't too bad actually, we were split into three groups and we got to do three sets of activities each day, so it was actually quite interesting! Plus we had Friday off which meant that I was able to have a rest before Saturday, as I was working, and then I went for my first night out around town.

Me, Lauren, Carley and Lauren went for a meal at Relish, the food wasn't brilliant, but the skittle cocktails were yum! Then we went to a few clubs and had a dance and some drinks ;) I loved it in rock a hula! everything is Tiki themed haha :D so cool!

My feet were killing me though :( they still hurt!

On Sunday I went for a walk with my family :) was quite nice! planning to go for a picnic next Sunday so hopefully the weather stays nice for then!

Today at college, we went to a few art galleries and we got told that we can have the chance to submit a piece of work, that can be a drawing, a photo, a sculpture, or basically any form of art into the competition. We have 2 weeks to decide and to create the piece of art, it then needs to be entered and the winner will receive £250 :D so yeah, I'm trying to think of an idea which I can really get stuck into! Quite excited :)

Until next time..

Effrayant.

4th September 2012 -

Well, I've had my first day at college.. and my second day actually! There's some nice people there :) already met some nice girls. It's going to take some getting used to though! It's such a big place, I keep getting lost! Haha! It's strange being in that situation again!

Yesterday was spent mainly showing us around the building and showing us who everyone is, and today was spent being put into three groups and firstly trying to make objects out of rolled up bits of newspaper.. secondly drawing pain brushes.. and thirdly working in the dark room and producing our own pictures, which was the best part of the day :D

Can't wait to get this week over though if I'm honest! It's only induction week but its longer hours than we would be doing normally, this week I'll be there Monday until half 12, Tuesday until 4, Wednesday until half 4, Thursday until 3 and then Friday we've got off. Whereas our normal timetable will be a half day Monday, all day Tuesday, off Wednesday, all day Thursday and half day Friday :D

We even had this thing in the event hall today, where we got given loads of free stuff. It's loads better than the one I used to go to with my old school, I actually got a free bottle of water, a free pass at fitness first for a week, 4 badges, a highlighter, a pen, a straw and bottle thing so people can't spike my drink when I'm out ;), a wrist band and a bunch of leaflets haha :P but yeah it was quite fun actually :)

Also, I'm out with the girls this weekend :D off for a meal at Relish, and then off round town for a bit; my first time round town! Haha :D actually really excited! I feel like a kid again :') I keep looking online at this outfit that I really like, but it's so expensive and I've spent over half of my birthday money already! Which I was meant to be saving :( boo! But hey, it's worth it I guess :) even more so, because I'm going shopping on Thursday and I'm getting two rather expensive nail polishes from Debenhams ;) just as a treat obviously..

So yeah, been an alright week so far, but I'm also knackered! haha :)

Until next time..
